Lucet defines Telehealth (also known as Virtual Visit) as
the delivery of behavioral health Covered Services through the use of
interactive telecommunications as an alternative to an in-person visit, when
the member and behavioral health Telehealth provider are not in the same
location. Telecommunications must be synchronous
(live) services rendered via a real-time audio and video
telecommunications system. Telehealth does not include the use of audio-only
telephone, facsimile, text, email, U.S. Mail or other parcel service, or any
combination thereof for the delivery of services.
